Moonwalk™ Named by CRN as ‘Emerging Tech Dynamo’

Milton, Australia, 2007 – Moonwalk™ Inc. was included among the emerging vendors honored by CRN magazine for providing “far superior technology, more robust margins and uncompromising technical support” than established vendors in the information technology industry, according to an article in the publication’s June 4 issue.

This year’s “Emerging Tech Dynamos” are 163 channel-friendly vendors selected in part by solution providers as the companies that are “handily beating established vendors in head-to-head product, margin, technical support and field engagement comparisons.”   Moonwalk™’s ability to proactively manage the migration, copying and movement of data throughout the enterprise helped it earn a spot in the Emerging Tech Database as one of the storage sector honorees.

“It is indeed an honor to be included among the up-and-coming companies included in CRN’s prestigious ‘Emerging Tech Dynamos’ list,” said Peter Harvey, CEO of Moonwalk™.  “We anticipate that reaction to this designation among our channel partners will be favorable and provide them with even more opportunities to implement our enterprise data management system at organizations looking to minimize storage expenditures while maximizing their existing storage infrastructure.  As an ‘Emerging Tech Dynamo,’ we look forward to continuing helping companies resolve their storage issues and maintain effective management of disk space on an ongoing basis.”

Moonwalk™’s stateless architecture requires no additional overhead and is completely transparent to users and applications, with no introduced points of potential failure and ensuring maximum performance. Extremely small-footprint agents, each with its own NFS client, are installed on enterprise servers to execute the policies as scheduled from a centralized management location. These agents are very light weight – for example, one megabyte for NSS, four megabytes for Windows – and are installed quickly and simply throughout the network. The agents can then stream the files directly between locations as instructed without any intervention or staging. The software is so non-disruptive that it takes only about an hour for an average Moonwalk™ installation to be fully operational.

Vendors who make the CRN Emerging Tech list must have an established solution provider program and formal guidelines for recruiting channel partners. They must demonstrate that its direct sales mix is trending down as evidenced by the company's revenue history, a channel positive or channel neutral strategy for internal sales compensation, and not be a dominant market share player. Final selection to the Emerging Technology list was made at the discretion of the CRN editorial team after a review of the submitted information and conversations with current or targeted partners.
