Moonwalk™ Universal announces Migration Support for files native to a Windows environment

This allows the migration of Windows captive files in primary storage to a Windows, NFS or Netware environment in secondary storage tiers.

The Migration Support is transparent to applications and users. According to Peter Harvey, Moonwalk™ Universal CEO: "This migration capability is built upon the generic data centric architecture at the heart of Moonwalk™. The new capability extends the current Netware Migration product and significantly expands the market opportunity.

The Centralized Policy Manager remains unchanged across the different file systems giving the Systems Administrator a single view irrespective of where the files might reside.
From the Netware perspective, this release also extends the reach of the Systems Administrator into the Windows File Systems throughout the enterprise giving the ability to manage and organize unstructured files to optimize storage investment and to address issues of governance - without having to install a Novell Client on the Windows servers"
