The Luton and Dunstable NHS Hospital in Luton has selected Moonwalk as
an enterprise ILM solution for their Novell Netware environment.
The L&D Hospital is a medium size, general hospital with 500 inpatient beds.
The hospital provides a comprehensive range of general medical and surgical
services, including A&E, for over 300,000 people in Luton, Bedfordshire,
Hertfordshire and parts of Buckinghamshire.
The catchment population is projected to increase to 500,000 in the next 10
years.
Implementing the Moonwalk ILM technology will provide L&D with a unified
approach to data management.
Moonwalk’s unique architecture provides for extensive scalability servicing the
growth of the Hospital’s inpatient population.
Moonwalk’s UK representative, Duncan Wright said the Moonwalk technology
provides L&D with a framework for a continual improvement in data
management.
“Moonwalk will deliver the capability to not only manage L&D’s datasets, but
to understand how and when that data is used” says Wright.
“Lesser used data can be migrated to inexpensive storage providing both
improved cost efficiency and less bloated production systems”.
The L&D rollout of Moonwalk is scheduled for January 2007.
Moonwalk Universal develops software for heterogeneous Information
Lifecycle Management. Moonwalk can be applied to a variety of operations
including Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM), Archiving, Disaster
Recovery and structured File Management.
